New CCTV images show British TV doctor Michael Moseley less than half an hour later he was last seen by his wife leaving a beach on a Greek holiday island.

The 67-year-old broadcaster went for a coastal walk along a rocky path between Agios Nikolaos beach and the fishing village of Pedi on the small island of Symi in the eastern Aegean at 1.30pm on Wednesday – and failed to return.

He was holidaying with his wife, Dr Claire Bailey, who raised the alarm at 7.30pm, sparking an intensive search mission involving police, fire, coastguard and volunteers focusing on the area between the beach and the village.

It was thought Moseley may have “fallen from a height” or passed out as temperatures on the small island rose on Wednesday night.

However, new pictures suggest he completed the initial walk to the nearby village of Peddy with footage taken from a restaurant placing him on the village’s main street approximately 20 minutes later. Shielding himself from the 36C heat with an umbrella, he can be seen walking down the street.

Authorities also investigated whether he ever left the island, but found no indication that anyone had traveled under his name.

A police officer said The sun that investigators will now “look at all possible avenues he could have taken from there.”

There were also earlier reports that a local Simi resident claimed to have seen Moseley standing at a bus stop in Peddy around 2pm – 10 minutes after the CCTV footage was captured.

On Thursday, the island’s mayor, Eleftherios Papakalodoukas, raised further concerns, saying it was virtually “impossible” for it to disappear on such a small island, which is only about 16 kilometers long.

“It’s a very small, controlled area full of people,” Papakalodoukas said.

“So if anything happened to him there, we would have found him by now.

“You can’t disappear, you can’t get lost.”

Moseley is well known in Britain for programs including the BBC series Trust Me, I’m a Doctor. He has also appeared on BBC’s The One Show and ITV’s This Morning. He also promotes the 5:2 diet, which supports intermittent fasting.
