A father and his two children have died and the children’s mother is fighting for life after a crash in Queensland’s Western Downs.
The man and children died on the road after their car collided with a ute on the Dalby-Jandowae Road in Jimbour East at around 11am.
The mother was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.
9News Queensland reports the ute is believed to have rear-ended the sedan.
The man who was driving the ute was taken to Dalby Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
More than 130 people have died on Queensland’s roads this year.
“May I remind everyone that we have a significant challenge with our tolls this year,” said Police Commissioner Steve Golszewski.
“People on the road should follow the traffic rules and drive according to the conditions.
Dalby-Jandowae Road was closed between MacAlister Bell Road and Inglenton Frees Road/Pirrinuan Malakoff Road.
The forensics department is investigating.
Ambulance Service Queensland said road closures were expected overnight.
