British TV personality and health guru Michael Moseley may have died shortly after falling ill while hiking alone on the Greek island of Symi, local police said.

Moseley, a TV doctor who promotes a type of intermittent fasting known as the 5:2 diet, was on vacation when he disappeared last Wednesday, sparking a days-long search involving police, fire, coast guard and volunteers.

His body was found on Sunday about two hours’ walk from Agios Nikolaos beach, where he started his walk. Police believe he died around 4 p.m. local time on Wednesday, the day he went missing, Greek police spokeswoman Constantia Dimoglidou told CNN.

The initial autopsy concluded that Moseley died of natural causes and that there were no injuries on his body that could have caused his death, the BBC reports.

Dimoglidou told CNN that police do not believe Moseley was sitting for long before he died because the time of his death was similar to the time it would have taken him to get to the scene.

Moseley’s body was found when a boat carrying the island’s mayor, Lefteris Papakalodoukas, and some journalists spotted him lying face up against a fence about 20 meters above Agia Marina beach, Papakalodoukas told The Associated Press.

The position in which his body was found suggests he was sitting at the time of his death, Dimoglidou said.

Moseley’s wife, Dr Claire Bailey, paid tribute to her “wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant” husband after his body was found, saying he “made an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed there , where he could not be easily seen by the extensive search team.”
