Everton have sent their support to their former striker Kevin Campbell after it emerged the 54-year-old is seriously ill in hospital.
It is understood that Campbell, who became a fan favorite playing for the club between 1999 and 2005 after winning the title with Arsenal, fell ill last week. Campbell has also played for clubs including Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion.
“We have advised that our former striker Kevin Campbell is currently very unwell,” Everton said in a statement published on X.
“Not only a great footballer but an amazing person, Kevin is and always has been a fighter and we wish him and his family the best at this difficult time. Sending all our love.”
